Daisy Teh
Daisy is an English Language and Communications specialist having honed her teaching and facilitation skills over 11 years in the education industry. Her enthusiasm and commitment towards imparting her knowledge can be seen from the many positive evaluations from students who benefited from her dynamic, non-threatening and rapport-building style of facilitation.
Having graduated from Nanyang Technological University / National Institute of Education with a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and a Diploma in Physical Education, Daisy first taught English Language and Physical Education in a secondary school for 4 years before leaving for the airline industry which she was in for 2 and a half years. In her short stint, she was trained in the different aspects of effective communication and service, and obtained several complimentary letters from passengers.
Daisy obtained her Masters in Applied Linguistics from the National University of Singapore / RELC and returned to teaching at UniSIM where she taught the module “English Language: Past, Present and Future” to mature students in the Open University Programme.
Currently, Daisy is an adjunct tutor at the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University, tutoring “Communication Management Strategies” and “Communication Management Fundamentals” to second and first year Business students. She is also an academic associate at Republic Polytechnic, teaching “Introduction to Communication Practices”, using the polytechnic’s Problem-Based Learning System.
Daisy’s multi-faceted experiences, including that of having been a competitive athlete in school for 12 years, serve as strong influences in her philosophy towards teaching, learning and facilitation.
